Linen and Lace, by Jess Gorringe

Fabrics Used: Tessuti Linen & Tessuti Lace
Time To Create: About 2 weeks.
Dress Influenced By: Inspired by current trends from international catwalks. One of my favourite designers is Betsey Johnson but I feel like this dress has a very "Dior" personality. As the most important part of any dress I also design straight from the fabric. Some fabrics speak to you in a way that helps shape the final outcome.
Additional Information: This dress was so much fun to make I can't wait to make another one in my own size!

My Experience: I started sewing through high school textiles (made some awesome tie dyed cotton boxer shorts ;) Then started making my own clothes around year 10. After school I completed a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and am now working for a lingerie company.
My Sewing Goals: I think the most important thing when sewing or with any hobby is to retain passion and enjoyment in what you do. I love sewing and the feeling you get out of completing a project so my goal is simply to keep sewing and enjoy the process!
Additional Information: MAKING STUFF!!! wow. suprised? hahaha! Like most people here I have to say there's just nothing like the satisfaction of putting on something you've made with your own hands. I also love the quirky little things in life like heart shaped lollipops, brightly coloured heels and knitting.
