Linen and Lace, by pamela usanto
About my Linen and Lace
- Pattern Used: My own design
- Fabrics Used: Linen, silk organza, and french beige rose lace
- Time To Create: 8 hours
- Dress Influenced By: I have always used laces in my designs, but this is the first time for me to combine both linen and lace. It is a strange combination as one is very casual, yet the lace is very sophisticated. Thus I have decided to design a piece that is has a modern cutting, yet sophisticated enough to be worn for special occasion. Versatility is the world to describe this dress.
- Additional Information: Draping technique are used to create the skirt and lace patterns, whereas the bodice are moulded into shape with a little bit of boning. The lace around the bodice and hem are positioned and stitched by hand, I have used different techniques to show versatility.
