Tessuti Awards 2010

Linen and Lace, by Tia Carrigan

About my Linen and Lace

  • Pattern Used: My own design
  • Fabrics Used: Cream Linen Knit & Grandmother's Vintage Crochet Doilies
  • Time To Create: Completed over a month
  • Dress Influenced By: * Showcasing my Grandmother's intricate crochet work in a fresh way for wear during our Spring 2011. * The Tessuti linen knit is beautiful and soft and allows the dress to be both unique and comfortable to wear.
  • Additional Information: * The linen knit is seamed with elastic to provide extra strength. * No fastenings required: the dress slips over the wearer's head as a result of the great stretch properties of the linen knit fabric. * Macrame has also been used to enhance the crocheted bodice, a technique which has similar properties to lace and crochet in its intricate formations and delicate thread-work.
